No previous experience needed! We have members from a variety of backgrounds and levels of experience. If you have no previous experience why not join us and get some experience? It's never too late to try something new! Visit the 'Join Us' page for more details.

Not all of our members are performers. Many help backstage, create props, assist with costumes, make-up,  set-building, front of house etc. If you are interested in these, we encourage you to visit the join us page and you can advise us of your interests within your membership application.

The Livingston Players are not a stage school, we instead are a charity that produces shows.  All members do work under the teachings of experienced directors/choreographers/musical directors. So while we don't run weekly classes, by being involved in our productions all members develop as performers through lots of practical opportunities and guidance.

There are many groups in Livingston who offer weekly skill training classes for youths. Many of our youth members, for example, attend a stage school and also take part in our productions to gain more real performing experience (and for fun!). This is of course not a requirement. All are welcome to audition regardless of experience and all will be supported.

Both! We generally produce a youth musical in September, and an adult musical in May, for example. We also produce full company productions fairly regularly. Our members currently range from age 9 to 70. We balance our plans each year to ensure opportunities for all members.
