Meet The Committee!

The Livingston Players is entirely run by volunteers. Find out more about us and our roles below!

2024 - 2025 Committee

Louise Fairnie

PRESIDENT

Louise has been a member of Livingston Players since 2014 and had been in musicals and plays including The Steamie, The Odd Couple, Allo Allo, 9 to 5 and Made in Dagenham. She enjoys being part of the committee almost as much as she enjoys being onstage and brings her passion and enthusiasm to everything she does. She feels extremely privileged to be President of this incredible company

Gill Sullivan

VICE PRESIDENT

Gill is a long serving member of Livingston players, having been with the company now for 36 years. Β  She has been involved in many performances in leading and supporting roles in musicals and plays, and has also directed plays and musicals with us.Β  A committee member in the past, notably as Publisher and Secretary, with a wealth of experience, Gill now takes on her new role of Vice President.

Alistair Thomas

TREASURER

Since first appearing with the Livingston Players way back in the 2006 production of β€œThe Scarlet Pimpernel” playing the villainous Robespierre, he has become a more regular on stage presence for the Players including taking lead roles in several plays and musicals, including Bill Snibson in β€œMe and My Girl”, Mickey Johnston in β€œBlood Brothers”, and Rene Artois in β€œAllo Allo”. After appearing in over 100 musicals and plays in and around Edinburgh, this is his second stint on committee and hopes he will bring a little of the knowledge he has amassed in that time to help out.

Pam Murray

SECRETARY

Pam has returned to the committee to take on the role of Secretary. She has been with the Players since 2008 and was with Downfield Musical Society in Dundee prior to coming to Livingston in 2000. She has previously been Vice President, President, Box Office Manger and Choreographer to name but a few and is looking forward to her new role. She has had several principal/supporting roles in both Musicals and Plays but her favourite and most challenging by far was Mrs Lovett in the 2015 production of Sweeny Todd.

Carol Collier

MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY &
CHILD PROTECTION

Carol has been with the Livingston Players for over 20 years and has taken part in many musicals and plays. She can often be seen and heard in the chorus and thoroughly enjoys learning her craft in plays. Her favourite role so far was Mel in β€œShakers” in 2010. Carol has been an active Committee member for many years and is a past President. She acts as the Child Protection Officer for the Players. Carol is one of our Life Members and was surprised and delighted to receive this honour.

Abbie Fairnie

MERCHANDISE &
FRIENDS OF THE PLAYERS

Abbie has been part of the Livingston Players since 2017 doing sound and visuals. She recently decided to try going onstage and performed in Legally Blonde and Footloose. She is happy to be a part of the committee and is enjoying helping to support the company.

Allyson Coleman

SOCIALS COORDINATOR

After travelling the country taking my children to their hobbies/activities I went along to a new members workshop at Howden Park Centre as I’d decided it was time to some activities that I was interested in. This was 11 years ago and I’ve been in many musical theatre productions, starting with Blackfriars Wynd and being in the latest Oliver. I have also been in two plays Gin & Tonic (background aerobics!) and The Odd Couple. I am delighted to be part of the Committee for the first time as Social Coordinator.

Amy Edwardson

SOCIAL MEDIA

Amy has been involved with the Livingston Players, starting in 2010 as a member of the stage crew and more recently has been involved with directing. She was assistant director for last years youth production of Legally Blonde and co-directed this years first full company musical – Footloose. Although Amy is a Physiotherapist by day, she has always been involved with theatre, having worked as a tutor and stage manager at Star Harmoneez Musical Theatre School during her time at University. This is Amy’s first year on committee and she is passionate about developing our online presence.

Ewan Hepburn

SPONSORSHIP

Ewan has been involved in the amateur arts in West Lothian for over 20 years and been a member of Livingston Players since 2010. He has performed in β€œFiddler on the Roof”, β€œCalendar Girls”, β€œβ€™Allo β€˜Allo” and β€œMade in Dagenham”. Ewan particularly enjoys a One Act play and, most recently, was part of the production team for β€œWinners”. He strongly believes that amateur drama should be for everyone and in the positive difference that it can make to people’s well being. Ewan is delighted to have the opportunity to serve on the committee.

Jo Robertson

PUBLISHER

Jo has been a member of the Livingston Players for 10 years now. She enjoys both performing onstage - most notably as β€˜Cass’ in Made in Dagenham (2019)- and helping behind the scenes. She enjoys all things musicals and dance. Jo is excited to be back on committee after taking a year out.Β

Karen Walker

EVENTS COORDINATOR

Scott Glidden

TECHNICAL COORDINATOR

Since 2013, Scott has performed in plays, musicals, and pantomimes with various companies. He has been on the committee since originally joining in 2018 as a youth member. He formerly trained at Millennium Stage School and Fierce Theatre Schools Edinburgh and has been in 40+ productions the last decade mainly as a performer, but also as backstage management and crew. Scott is currently a Computing Science student at the University of Glasgow. He deeply appreciates having the opportunity to contribute to the future of The Livingston Players, who have done so much for him over the last years.
