The Livingston Players is entirely run by volunteers. Find out more about us and our roles below!
Louise has been a member of Livingston Players since 2014 and has performed in musicals and plays, including The Steamie, The Odd Couple, Allo Allo, 9 to 5, and Made in Dagenham. She enjoys being part of the committee almost as much as she loves being onstage, bringing passion and enthusiasm to everything she does. She feels extremely privileged to serve as President of this incredible company.
Gill is a long-serving member of The Livingston Players. She has performed in many leading and supporting roles in musicals and plays and has also directed both for the club. A key member of the committee, Gill brings a wealth of experience in management and employment law, having worked as a Senior HR Business Leader in large corporate organizations. Now retired, she is excited to work alongside the committee to ensure the club continues to provide the best opportunities and entertainment in amateur theatre for local communities and beyond.
Since making his Livingston Players debut in the 2006 production of The Scarlet Pimpernel as the villainous Robespierre, Alistair has become a regular onstage presence, taking lead roles in several plays and musicals. His performances include Bill Snibson in Me and My Girl, Mickey Johnston in Blood Brothers, and René Artois in 'Allo 'Allo. Having appeared in over 100 musicals and plays in and around Edinburgh, this is his second stint on the committee, where he hopes to bring some of the knowledge he has amassed over the years to contribute to the club's success.
A member of the Players since 2008, she was previously with Downfield Musical Society in Dundee before moving to Livingston in 2000. She has served as Vice President, President, Box Office Manager, and Choreographer and, as well as Secretary, she is The Players Archivist. Pam has played several principal and supporting roles in both musicals and plays, but her favourite role so far is Chris in the 2024 production of Calendar Girls.
Carol has been with The Livingston Players for over 20 years, taking part in numerous musicals and plays. Often seen and heard in the chorus, but thoroughly enjoys honing her craft in plays. Her favourite role so far was Mel in Shakers in 2010. An active committee member for many years and a past President, she also serves as the Players' Child Protection Officer. As a Life Member, Carol was both surprised and delighted to receive this honor.
Abbie has been part of The Livingston Players since 2017, working on sound and visuals. Recently, she decided to step onstage, performing in Legally Blonde and Footloose. She is happy to be part of the committee and enjoys helping to support the company.
After years of traveling the country supporting her children’s hobbies and activities, Allyson decided it was time to pursue her own interests. She attended a new members' workshop at Howden Park Centre 11 years ago and has since been involved in many musical theatre productions, starting with Blackfriars Wynd and most recently appearing in Oliver!. She has also performed in two plays, Gin & Tonic (background aerobics!) and The Odd Couple. Allyson is delighted to join the committee for the first time as Social Coordinator.
Amy has been involved with the Livingston Players, starting in 2010 as a member of the stage crew and has recently stepped into various production team roles. She has been the assistant director for Legally Blonde, co-director for Footloose and Stage Manager for Calendar Girls. Although Amy is a Physiotherapist by day, she has always been involved with theatre, having worked as a tutor and stage manager at Star Harmoneez Musical Theatre School during her time at University. This is Amy’s second year on the committee and she is passionate about developing our online presence.
Ewan has been involved in the amateur arts in West Lothian for over 20 years and has been a member of The Livingston Players since 2010. He has performed in Fiddler on the Roof, Calendar Girls, ’Allo ‘Allo and Made in Dagenham. Ewan particularly enjoys a One Act play and, most recently, was part of the production team for Winners. He strongly believes that amateur drama should be for everyone and that it can make a positive difference in people’s well-being. Ewan is delighted to have the opportunity to serve on the committee.
Jo has been a member of the Livingston Players since 2014. She enjoys both performing onstage - most notably as Cass in the 2019 production of Made in Dagenham - as well as helping behind the scenes. She enjoys all things musicals and dance. Jo is excited to have made a return to the committee after a short break.
Karen joined The Players in 1992 to take part in a one-act festival in the old Howden Park Centre. Her first play was in October 1995 and her first musical was in 1993, Sweet Charity. Thus far Karen has been involved in 28 musicals in both minor principal and chorus roles. She has been on the committee for over 30 years in various roles, namely secretary, box office, and an ordinary member. Karen is happy to be back after taking a break in 2023.
Since 2013, Scott has performed in plays, musicals, and pantomimes with various companies. He has been on the committee since originally joining in 2018 as a youth member having formerly trained at Millennium Stage School and Fierce Theatre Schools Edinburgh. He has been in over 40 productions throughout the last decade, mainly as a performer, but also as backstage management, crew, and more recently director. Scott is currently a Software Engineering student at the University of Glasgow. He is loving contributing to the future of The Livingston Players, particularly putting his techy skills to good use!
